Have your say on major trauma care in the East

Patients and the public are being asked about plans to create a new service for the most seriously injured patients in the East.

The East of England Specialised Commissioning Group (SCG) is overseeing the creation of a new Major Trauma Centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, announced in July, and the set-up of a clinical Trauma Network which will include all local hospitals. It is holding events at supermarkets and other locations across the region over the coming weeks, to ask people what they think about the plans and what worked well for them if they have experience of a serious injury.

The first event will be held at Asda, Goddard Road, Whitehouse Industrial Estate, Ipswich on 30 November from 10am-1pm, where an information pack will be available complete with a questionnaire.

All of the feedback will be used to inform the future planning of care for the most seriously injured. People can also log on to the SCG website www.eoescg.nhs.uk  where they can download the information pack, and complete an online questionnaire (also attached on this page), as well as view a six-part video of a demonstration of what happens at the scene of a car accident. The deadline for feedback is 6 February, 2012.
